Pro 32 FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) — Officials say Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jarvis Landry is being investigated for possible domestic battery.A spokesman for the Broward County State Attorney’s office said Monday in an email the allegations were under review and no decision has been made on whether Landry will be charged. The case was recently referred to prosecutors by the Fort Lauderdale Police Department. A police spokeswoman said the incident occurred in April. Dolphins coach Adam Gase says the team is aware of the situation and that “proper steps” have been taken. The 24-year-old Landry is in his fourth NFL season out of Louisiana State University. He has 288 career receptions for 3,051 yards for the Dolphins. He was on the practice field Monday.
When it rains it pours and it in Miami it is currently torrentialy down pouring and this time it much more serious than the QB getting hurt and the team is left scrambling trying to figure out what to do. Pro Bowl receiver Jarvis Landry is being investigated for battery stemming from an April incident. It’s being reported that the incident may possibly involve the mother of his child. It’s also being reported that that there is a video of the incident but that it doesn’t show any violence.
This all together sucks. Not sure about you, but when I hear of an athlete being accused of domestic violence I always fear the worst. That’s the cynic in me. I know there’s plenty of cases where the person in question doesn’t get charged like what happened with Gareon Conley from the Raiders. But there’s also several Greg Hardy’s in this world. Big scumbags that deserve to be imprisoned forever. I’ve got no tolerance for this kind of stuff. Don’t know anyone who does.I hope that this was all some kind of major miscommunication and everyone involved can go on with their lives. But if it goes the other way I hope Landry goes away forever. Let the legal process play out and see what happens. Not much more to do than that.
I’m guessing since the Dolphins have known about this situation for months, that this had something to do with Miami not offering Jarvis a contract extension. Even if they say it didn’t I’ll never believe that. Again, big cynic here.
