Stop when you’ve heard this before. NFL player for 13 years and 38 career INTS who was also a 2 time pro-bowler and former winner of the Walter Payton Man Of The Year Award retires and becomes a special agent for the FBI. Happens all the time I know.
Seriously, good for Peanut Tillman. He was always a consistent player in the league and seemed like one of the genuine good guys out there. Typically, a player retires and the next time you see them they’re either getting in trouble or they’re becoming an analyst. You never see them join law enforcement besides Shaq (sort of) or Steven Seagal (you better believe it he’s in real law enforcement). But according to Bobby Clay of the Sporting News and Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune, Tillman has been at this for a while and it’s all legit
Per Bobby Clay of Sporting News, Tillman has graduated from the FBI’s training academy and become an official agent.
Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reported last September that Tillman had started training to join the FBI, whose guidelines mandate that “prospective candidates for hiring as a special agent must be at least 23 years old but younger than 37 at the time of appointment.”
Tillman turned 37 on Friday.
Per Clay, a source said the two-time Pro Bowler was “currently working for the FBI. [He] has his badge and everything.”
Love that they have to say that Tillman has a badge and everything. That’s how you get the people to believe a story like this. Good for Tillman. I wonder what Tillman brings to the agency. Like does he have deep knowledge on illegal sports stuff or does he have a wealth of contacts all throughout Chicago? Who knows? I do know that the FBI wouldn’t do this if Tillman wasn’t fully committed. I mean they did give him a badge and everything. So I’m sure he’s all ready to go and bring justice to fools. Maybe he becomes the FBI director. Trump seems hell bent in firing the entire FBI so eventually Tillman’s number will get called for the position. Cool with me.
It be funny if there was a situation where Tillman kept wearing his jersey whenever he was on the job. Like he just keeps putting over his suit and everything. That’s the Tillman in the FBI that I want to have happen.
